Thanks to EVERYONE who bid on our Nie Nie Day Silent Auction. We appreciate everyone’s support and involvement, and I know Nie Nie and her family will appreciate everyone’s unbelievable generousity.

Today is one of those days when the internet is so beautifully poised to make a difference in the world, our hearts can hardly bear it. There is a family–the Nielson family–and they are in serious need of our help.
The Nielson’s–Stephanie (of Nie Nie Dialogues), her husband Christian and their four darling children–have experienced difficulty and tragedy unlike most of us have known. On August 16th, 2008, Stephanie, Christian and Christian’s flight instructor were in a serious private plane crash in Arizona. Sadly, the flight instructor died shortly after arriving at the hospital. Stephanie and Christian remain in critical condition, with Christian sustaining burns on over 30% of his body and Stephanie was burned on over 80% of her body.
This family, this mom, are so precious and such a shining light in the blogosphere, we at ruby & roja just had to act. Today, Design Mom Gabrielle is hosting “Nie Nie Day”, and as many bloggers as possible are hosting a silent auction to raise funds for the Nielson family.
We are offering a Plush Design Package up for bidding. The bidding starts at $10, and you may leave your bids in the comments section on this post. Each additional bid must be at least $1 higher than the previous bid. Auction closes on Sunday August 31st at 10pm Central. The winner will be contacted by us, and will pay the amount of their winning bid to the Stephanie and Christian PayPal account. The winner will then send the receipt to us at arianne@rubyandroja.com, and we will get started on their design.
